Marsha P. Johnson Secular Saint Candle
American social activist, organizer, and performer Marsha P. Johnson lived a conspicuous life; she used feminine pronouns, wore flowers in her
hair, and once told a judge her middle initial stood for “Pay It No Mind.” She cared for homeless child Sylvia L. Rivera. Later they formed Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) and opened a shelter for trans/gay people – especially at-risk youth of color. The Secular Saint Candle pays tribute to Marsha, whose energy, enlightenment, and humor elevated the world; without her, this would be a lesser place to live and let live large.
